About China City

Nestled in the heart of Verona, there's a quaint spot that promises an enticing journey through Chinese culinary delights called China City. Situated at 208 Laurel Hill Rd #112, the location itself hints at a welcoming adventure for both the seasoned palate and newcomers eager to explore Chinese cuisine.

Upon entering, the aroma captivates instantly, offering a fragrant preview of the flavorful experience awaiting diners. China City boasts a menu that's a symphony of traditional flavors and modern twists. From the classic Kung Pao Chicken, with a peppery kick, to a bowl of wonton soup that feels like a warm embrace on a chilly day, there's something for everyone. Those fond of seafood might find delight in the spicy Szechuan shrimp, each bite a perfect balance of heat and sweetness.

One's not to overlook the section dedicated to vegetarian delights. The stir-fried tofu, lush with a medley of vibrant vegetables, offers as much a feast for the eyes as it does for the taste buds. Even the humble egg roll here deserves a mention—crispy, generously filled, and paired with a tangy sweet-sour sauce that rounds out the appetizer section quite perfectly.

Regular visitors sing praises for China City's cozy, unpretentious atmosphere, often likening their visits to returning to a familiar, inviting place. The staff tends to add an extra layer of warmth, always ready with friendly smiles and eager to ensure each dining experience is memorable. It's these little touches that often leave patrons eager to come back for more.

Reviews frequently highlight the consistency of quality that China City offers. Long-time fans appreciate that, amidst all else, the restaurant holds true to its roots. Word has spread, it seems, given the packed tables witnessed during peak dining hours. Yet, service remains impressively swift, never sacrificing quality over quantity.

In Verona, where dining options vary, China City stands out for those craving a genuine taste of Chinese fare. In the rapid changes the restaurant world can see, it's comforting to have a place like this that's reliably excellent. Since moving to Staunton we are still trying to find our new favorite restaurants. We found a favorite at China City in Verona. The pictures don't reflect how delicious the Fried Dumplings and Egg Foo Young were. We had a classic Chinese food and movie night at home and really enjoyed it.

Mostly a takeout restaurant but the food is consistently good and the prices are very reasonable. I usually get the veggie lo mein and spring rolls and they're always yummy!

The ordering process was efficient! The cook time was quicker than stated. The meal, my favorite "Hot and Sour Soup" with two egg rolls was delicious! The quiet dine in experience was enjoyed with a good book everyone should read.

This is the house special lo mein. Very good! My favorite dish from here is pork egg foo young. Holy smokes! That sauce is amazing. Where I'm from Chinese restaurants use brown gravy. China City uses I think hoisin sauce with theirs. It is heated so it won't cool off your food. I'll post a pic of that when I find it lol I always ask for my egg roll to be cooked extra. It brings out such a better flavor and the skin is crispy. It's worth the drive if you're not in Verona.

The best Chinese food I've had in years, amazing seasoning! It saved my team and me from hunger—highly recommended!
